Telecom Ki Duniya Confusing Hai? Ishra Ka Ishara Kaafi Hai
Agar aapke ghar mein mummy-papa ya dada-dadi keypad phone ya basic phone use karte hain, toh aapne ek baat notice ki hogi:
Dukan par ya Google Pay par jab bhi unka number recharge karne jao, toh ₹299 ya ₹349 se kam ka koi dhang ka recharge nahi milta. Us recharge mein company 1.5GB daily 4G/5G data zabardasti thop deti hai — jabki unhe sirf rishtedaron se baat karne ke liye unlimited calling aur bank SMS chahiye hota hai.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) ne is loot par full stop laga diya hai.
21 September 2026 ko TRAI ne Telecom Consumer Protection (Thirteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026 officially release kar diya hai (Press Release No. 120/2026).
TRAI Ke Naye Order Ke 3 Sabse Bade Niyam
TRAI ke Sachiv (Secretary) Harinder Kumar dwara jari kiye gaye official notification ke anusaar, sabhi telecom companies (Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL) ko ye 3 naye provisions follow karne honge:
1. Har Combo Plan Ke Saath Sasta "Calling + SMS Only" Voucher Compulsory
Telecom companies har us validity period (jaise 14 din, 24 din, ya 28/30 din) jisme woh Voice + SMS + Data ka combined plan bechti hain — uske mukable unhe sirf Voice aur SMS ka alag Special Tariff Voucher (STV) dena hoga.
- Is voucher mein tariff ka appropriate reduction (keemat mein wajiib katauti) hona compulsory hai.
- Yani jo plan data ke sath ₹299 ka milta tha, woh bina data ke significantly sasta hona chahiye.
2. Same-Date Monthly Renewal (Calendar Month Recharge)
Ab 28 din ka chakravyuh khatam hoga. TRAI ne aadesh diya hai ki operators ko kam se kam ek aisa Voice & SMS STV dena padega jo har mahine ki same date par renew ho.
- Example: Agar aapne 15 March ko recharge kiya, toh agla recharge 15 April ko hi hoga.
- Agar kisi mahine mein woh tareekh nahi aati (jaise 31 tareekh February ya April mein), toh renewal us mahine ke aakhri din hoga.
3. Long Validity Options Bhi Dena Hoga
Companies lambi validity (jaise 84 din ya 365 din) ke liye bhi sirf Calling + SMS wala plan offer karengi, taaki consumers ko baar-baar har mahine recharge karne ka jhanjhat na rahe.

TRAI Ko Yeh Kadam Kyun Uthana Pada?
TRAI ne apne official note mein saaf likha hai ki Twelfth Amendment (2024) lagoo hone ke baad bhi, telecom companies ne ek chalaki shuru kar di thi:
- Companies ne saste aur short-duration ke calling vouchers gayab kar diye.
- Voice-only plans ko sirf bohot lambi validity (jaise 84 din ya 365 din) par mehengi keemat mein becha ja raha tha.
- Is wajah se desh ke low-income consumers, rural families aur keypad phone users ke paas mehenge data combo recharges lene ke alawa koi option nahi bacha tha.
TRAI ne 7 April 2026 ko draft regulation nikala tha. Is par 1,132 stakeholders ke responses aaye aur 15 June 2026 ko Open House Discussion (OHD) hui. Sabhi facts aur aam janta ke hit ko dekh kar TRAI ne 21 September 2026 ko ye kanoon pass kiya.
Kin Logon Ko Is Faisle Se Sabse Zyada Fayda Hoga?
- JioBharat & Keypad Phone Users: Karodon log jo feature phones use karte hain jahan YouTube ya Instagram reel nahi chal sakti, unka recharge bill adha ho jayega.
- Dual-SIM Users: Ek SIM par primary data plan rakhein, aur doosre SIM (Airtel ya Vi) par sirf sasta calling/SMS plan rakhein taaki bank OTPs aur incoming calls kabhi band na hon.
- Flat Wi-Fi Households: Agar aap din bhar ghar ya office ke fiber Wi-Fi par rehte hain, toh aapko mobile data ke liye monthly ₹350 kharch karne ki zaroorat nahi hai.
